Our movement is about more than an election—it is about the future of every child in Antioch. We believe that when we nurture the whole child, we strengthen the whole community.

Every student deserves to walk into a school where they feel safe, protected, valued, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential. Every educator in Antioch Schools also deserve to feel safe, protected, valued, and supported while serve as the inspiration for our children. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Antioch is a community filled with opportunity, promise, resilience, and hope. That's why I answered the call to run for Antioch Unified School District Board of Education, Trustee Area 5—to be a voice for our students, our families, and our educators, and to help build a brighter future for generations to come.

Nurturing Whole Child

Strengthening Whole Community

  • The physical safety of our students on and off campus is paramount to the success of our students. Our priority is to make sure that we: 

    • Create stronger policies around anti-bullying 

    • Provide additional resources of unarmed campus safety staff (or culture keepers) who's trained in deescalation, as well as gang interruption, and build relationships with students and their parents. 

    • Create School specific ratio of campus safety officers to students for the middle schools and high schools

    • Strengthen policies around the protection of our undocumented students by establishing safe zones in campus, creating a notification system to parents and the school community when enforcement agencies are in the area of the school, and protecting student data. 

  • Students are most successful when they are safe at school. Safety also comes with social and emotional support. Our priority is to invest in School counselors and therapist, and wellness rooms in every school, and more academic support in the classrooms by providing every classroom with teacher assistants. To achieve that goal, we must look at fiscal responsibility.

  • We must look at the school budget and see where we are overspending/unnecessary spending, and reallocate those resources to improve in areas that will benefit the students, as well as supporting our educators. 

  • When we nurture the whole child, we are strengthening the whole community. Community schools are essential to the successes of the student.

    We must create permanent partnerships with the City of Antioch, Contra Costa County, and community based organizations to support students and their families. 

  • Investment in our teachers, staff, and facilities to create safe, supporting, and inspiring learning environments.

    A key investment in supporting our teachers, staff, and facilities is by having a strong project labor agreement. Unions are the backbone of schools, therefore we must ensure that every facilities projects are done with 100% skilled labor with agreements with our labor unions.

    Contracting out facilities projects cost the district more money over time than partnering with labor unions.
